Anyone willing to share how they recruit the halls and win against FB, VB and Soccer? I don't work in the school and therefore am looking for inovative ways to reach prospective runners. I work morning announcements with meet results and upcoming evenys as well as encourage my existing runners to seek out others. What works for you?

Just got back (7-27) from 4 days/3 nights near Giant City State Park down by Carbodale doing a team building/training trip. 19 of my 25 runners were able to come. Facilitators from the Land for Learning Institute conducted a variety of team building activities to go along with rock climbing, hiking, trail running, canoeing, swimming, etc. I went with 19 individuals and returned with a fired up cohesive team. Can't wait to get them once the blackout period is over!

Watched the Long Green Line movie on hulu last night. It is about York's 2005 State Championship season (Mr. Newton and York's 25th). I was impressed with the team work that goes into recruiting the freshmen. Both the upperclassmen work on recruiting in the halls and they showed the information meeting, and I know Joe personally will stop and talk to kids in the halls to invite them to try out.(that's one of the personal touches a teacher who works at the school has in their toolbox to work with)
